Our RS tour tour email said to have a N95 mask (?) Is that in case someone gets COVID on the group? Thx in advance, Steve
It's explained in the tour FAQs
https://www.ricksteves.com/travel-help/tours-faq
Not just Covid but any respiratory illness - regular flu, a cold, something else that is airborne. You are asked to protect the rest of the group if you fall ill.
I've been continuing to mask on airplanes because everyone I know has come back from Europe with Covid. I don't want to be sick for my vacation nor do I want to be sick when I get back home!
To protect you from all kinds of communicable viruses
We all remember not catching colds for a couple of years during the mask mandate.
By the time you know that you need to wear a mask is is more than likely that the train has left the station. N95 are the best and wear them but be aware that you may have already been infected. don't worry about covid and flu, enjoy your trip. best thing to do, other than what RFK says, is to get your flu shot and COVID shot before you go (at least a month before it it works). Enjoy your trip!

This COVID mask, we haven't had to do since 2022. After taking the original two shots and one booster, then getting the disease, we are done with more COVID vaccines.
We have been on six group tours with GATE 1 Travel since 2022 and not been required to mask.
Please have one with you. A GTI virus went thru almost half our tour group last fall. Yes, it’s probably too late after it starts but then maybe it will help someone not getting it. Not a fun way to spend a few days of a tour.
