Hi i would to ask if anyone else was lied to about a holiday booking by The Holiday Tribe travel agents in the uk
Regards christy
a quick check over the last 15 or so years shows that yours is the first mention of them.
what happened?
Generally good Trust Pilot reviews but a few bad reviews. Only 8 Google reviews... all good. Of course, review sites have become less and less reliable over the last few years.
Like Nigel, I find myself wondering what happened...
Assuming that this is the same person that has posted a question about the same company on another forum, s/he appears to be complaining about a hotel booking where The Holiday Tribe booked a hotel 95km from somewhere rather than the 5km s/he was intending. Given that there are plenty of places with the same name around the UK I would imagine that this is perfectly possible without any lying happening.
More info for folks (look for the one-star review)

Not that it clarifies anything, mind you.
like Dave and Nigel I'd be interested in the full story, and I wouldn't trust trust pilot review scores without spending a lot of time comparing wording and dates in the reviews (which I'm not going to do).
But looking at this person's profile in Trustpilot it seems that somebody from Ireland used a random UK travel agent, not sure why especially when the operating address is shown as a flat! And then the complaint from ireland about a UK agent is repeated on a forum intended for travellers from USA, who are not likely to be using such agents. Not sure this thread will go anywhere without some real information.
First post, too. Why do people bother?
Did you not read the paperwork they sent you? The first thing I do when I get information is go see where the hotel is and what the reviews on TripAdvisor are.
There are two sides to every story and we've only got christy's comment they were lied to... That is quite a drastic statement to make and potentially libellous.
I've used aganets many times for complex bookings overseas and have always made a point of checking all details to make sure I am happy with them. I assume that Christy didn't bother to do this? Even the best agents can make mistakes.
This ?
