Med assist and Allianz Insurance

Just a quick question...purchasing our in insurance now for travel September 29-Octiber 5th

The med assist I will call them because I am not sure how many days I should get

The Allianz basic plan for 21 days is only $280 for 2 people.
I need advice...is that a good plan vs the premier plan. Thank you

That's sort of an impossible question to answer. Isn't pricing based on age and length of trip? And a basic plan offers a lower dollar amount of coverage for example it's $10,000 for medical coverage versus a premier plan offers $75,000 in medical coverage. So it's not that one is good and one isn't. It's how much coverage would make you feel comfortable. It's all a guessing game.

Hi! Agree with KD - this is a very difficult question to answer. Are you worried about a medical catastrophe while in the UK? You can go to the ER and they will treat you. Are there other circumstances about which you are worried? If so, what are they? Do you have health issues that might act up while you are abroad? That is a different question.

This is a community FILLED with knowledge… but we do need a tad more info to be able to help you. Thanks! :-)

Everyone’s insurance needs are different. Does your health insurance cover your overseas? Do you have pre-existing conditions? How much do you want to self insure? What will you do if you need to be medical evacuated home?

Like all insurance you’re insuring for the “what ifs” hoping you don’t need it.

Last year I bought an annual Allianz Premium plan. This year I bought per trip Allianz Basic. Plus annual Medjet evacuation and annual GeoBlue medical. Each has its niche for what I need. As a solo traveler, my needs will be different than yours.

It is worth knowing how, in the unhappy event of an emergency, the various costs will be paid. Some companies may reimburse you for what you have paid out of your own pocket. Others take charge of all arrangements. I suggest checking out the procedures now when you are not under pressure.

I usually buy med coverage and medical evacuation insurance from American Express. For my wife and self it runs about $60 for $100,000 coverage.
