What is the easiest way to get to Heathrow from Marylebone station? I will be coming from Stratford on Avon and will be going to catch a flight to Belfast. I am a little concerned because I see references to the Heathrow and I didn't think that British rail went there? I was thinking of taking the tube. Thanks for any advice!
Take the Underground from Marylebone to Paddington, then you have a choice of the Elizabeth Line (£5.80) or the Heathrow Express (from £10) to Heathrow.
May well be too late for this, but from Stratford-upon-Avon flying to Belfast would be an easier a journey from Birmingham Airport rather than via Heathrow.
The Elizabeth Line costs £12.80, not £5.80.- £13.90 through fare from Marylebone
Much like Marco I hope you haven't bought either the plane or train ticket - it would be so much easier and probably cheaper to take a short train either via Leamington and Coventry or via Birmingham to Birmingham International and then fly one of the many flights every day from Birmingham Airport.
If you were going from Stratford on Avon to Heathrow via Leamington Spa, the easiest route is probably to Reading then the Rail Air Bus.
Leamington Spa to Marylebone takes about 90 minutes, then say 45 minutes.
Leamington Spa to Reading takes just over the hour, then an hour on the bus, but every 20 minutes.
So time wise, not a lot to choose. Cost wise, with Advance train specific tickets, Marylebone is probably cheaper, but not by that much.
And that saving could be said to be offset by having to cross London. All such calculations are ultimately subjective.
