Anyone have any experience at the Premier Inn at Marylebone? Going to London in early December and want your advice on whether or not this is a good location. Have stayed on Kensington near the park before and right down the street from the Royal Albert Hall….how does this location at Marylebone compare? We would like to stay under $250 a night if possible…any other suggestions would be wonderful. Thank you!
Is this the Premier Inn Hub at Marylebone? Or a normal Premier Inn? If the later, I’m not sure where it is.
The Marylebone Hub is in a decent location. Not right in the centre if things but very handy for transport by bus and tube. Make sure you’re aware of the specific nature of Hubs: very small rooms, cabin-style beds and no kettle in room (free coffee in reception). No guarantee of a window. But good showers and very clean.
This is a Hub inn. Be sure you understand exactly what you're getting and not getting here. If you are traveling solo, probably okay. If there are 2 travelers for more than a night, you may find your room uncomfortably small.
Are you wanting to be near to Royal Albert Hall? What are dates?
Dates are 12/8 through 12/18…..we walk A LOT and do not mind doing so. When we stayed at Kensington last visit we walked but it just seemed we could have had a better location closer to the center of London. I know hotels are pricey there but a little more room to move around is getting to be more and more attractive to me!
There are plenty more Premier Inn locations in central London. The King’s Cross/St Pancras area is very well connected and has 3 PIs. Then there are more around Aldgate, which is a cheaper area. It might look to be to the east but it’s close to The Tower, St Paul’s etc and again well connected for public transport.
I agree with the above. If there are 2 of you, don't book a Hub. They're great for the odd night, but for 2 people for several days not so much.
For regular Premier Inns your budget seems fine. I have just done a quick search on the PI London Euston (the Kings X, St Pancras area) - cost for 9 nights (it would only let me input 8th to 17th December) was £1,729 for a "flex" booking, or £1,279 "advance" booking, ie pay now. There are lots of other PI options around London.
The usual PI recommendation here - County Hall - said it was fully booked
If you want to stick with Premier Inns, book one of their regular hotels, not a Hub.
We stayed at the Premier Inn St Pancras in 2023, very comfortable, but definitely not a location I would want to spend 10 days at.
The Premier Inn County Hall is frequently recommended by posters here. It is currently showing availability. That would be a good location.
The Holborn or the Victoria Premier Inns would be good locations, also.
I agree with the above. If there are 2 of you, don't book a Hub.
1,000 percent.
I love the Hub Covent Garden when I am alone. If I have my husband along, I go for Premier Inn at Holborn.
Another vote for Premier Inn County Hall !! Great location. You're right behind the London Eye (couldn't be easier to find), across Westminster Bridge from Westminster Abbey, and near the river for using the Thames Clipper/Uber boats as transportation to other areas of London.
Premier Inn at Marylebone is in a good location, generally, for London; however it would be good to know what some of your activities will be during your visit. For example, will you be going to museums? Christmas concerts at Royal Albert Hall? What would you like to be near? Walking distance to?

How the two compare.....I'd rather stay in South Kensington if I wanted to go to several concerts at Royal Albert Hall. I'd rather stay in S. Kensington if I wanted to spend several days at the V&A Museum, Science Museum and Museum of Natural History nearby. You are walking distance to Harrods.
any other suggestions would be wonderful. Thank you!
Take a look at The Resident Victoria. It's convenient to Buckingham Palace (walking distance) and to Westminster Abbey and the Thames riverfront (walking distance).
For a review, read the first enrty here in Mardee's trip report. She recently stayed here and loved it; gave it a rave review.

The easiest way in from Heathrow in my opinion is by coach from the Heathrow coach station. The coach pulls into Victoria Coach Station, a short walk to the hotel from there. A couple of blocks.
The Resident Covent Garden is much the same as the Resident Victoria. Covent Garden is an excellent location for walking the neighborhood and finding good restaurants.

The center of London......it's difficult to pinpoint when a visitor says they want to stay near the center of London.
Charing Cross is the center of London or perhaps Trafalgar Square?
Since a little more room to move around is attractive to you, take a look at some of the apartment hotels in London.
Citadines is one very popular option.
They have a very nice location in Trafalgar Square area. Choose a studio apartment or one bedroom. They have a front desk where you check in. The front desk is manned all night, in case you need assistance. They serve a great breakfast. So it's just like hotel, but it's more space to move around. There are several locations in London.
This is an area with lots of transportation options; tube, train station, London city buses.
I just stayed at the Premier Inn County Hall in April and it was a good experience. I don't think there's a more central location than right by the London Eye! A five minute walk to Westminster Bridge and convenient to multiple Tube stations.
