Marriott Residence Inn London Bridge safe walk from public transit at 9pm?

Our family plan to stay at the new Marriott Residence Inn London Bridge located on Long Lane up from Tower Road and Abbey St. If I take a bus almost to Abbey St (say Grange Road area) is this a safe walk to the hotel at 9pm in the summer? I got a great rate for a large room for 4 people. But if it's going to be a dicey walk there, I'll look elsewhere. I read that walking at night in the Kipling area was not recommended.

The only risk is making sure you're looking when you cross the street. In that area, you won't even be at risk of tourists with selfie sticks.

We stayed there Monday just gone, it's fine. It's not dark at 9pm at this time of year and the area was still busy.

I didn't think much of the hotel, initially we were allocated a two bed room despite booking a two bedroom room. The beds are large but they're squeezed in so tight that it's really difficult to walk around especially at night. We were quickly reallocated to the room we booked, a two bedroom one, which was equally as tight. The rooms are also without natural light and with no clocks in the room we all slept in later than usual. Overhearing conversation from fellow guests it appears we were not unique in that respect so if you need to be up at a certain time I'd recommend setting an alarm on your phone.
