I have open train tickets from Manchester Piccadilly to Conwy for a trip late in April. I have two questions:
Is my best bet the train from Manchester airport to Piccadilly? Am I right that the cost/ticket for that is about 5 pounds?
Second: I have heard that Conwy is a "request" train stop. Whom do I make the request of?

The Manchester airport train station, cleverly signed as 'The Station', is right at the center of the terminal complex. Trains to Manchester Picadilly leave every ten minutes or so. The price sounds about right.
Tell the conductor.
To get off at a request train stop, notify the guard on the train.
To get on at one you need to be visible to the driver on approach to the station.
