After a few days in London, we're taking the train to Bath. However I'm considering a side trip to Windsor Castle. The main challenge is managing luggage that day. It seems that the train stations that serve Windsor do not offer luggage storage. Any recommendations?
We plan to rent a car in Bath. Maybe another option would be to get the car in London and drive to Bath via Windsor...
Where in London are you staying? Might be easier return to Heathrow and pick up a car there and continue heading west on the M4 to Windsor and Bath.
Or you could do Windsor as a half-day trip by public transport while you're in London.
Then you can get a direct train to Bath from London on the day you're going there instead of faffing about trying to manage luggage on a side trip. Just a thought.
Very few train stations in the UK have left luggage. We've been dealing with terrorism here since the days of the IRA in the 1970s and one result is no luggage lockers and very few rubbish bins at train stations. Only the very big city stations have left luggage, complete with airport-style security.
Staying near Victoria Station. We thought that leaving London earlier on our departure day than planned to go to Windsor would be more efficient than running out there and back to London, but maybe not. I'll look into both suggestions further, thank you!
