In reaction to the huge covid numbers in UK and much lower numbers in France, France has from this weekend banned travel from the UK to France without a sufficient urgent reason.
There will also be, for everybody who is accepted, more travel testing and 3 day quarantine.

We cancelled a trip to England to visit London and Cornwall in 2019 due to COVID19, but we will wait until the restrictions are over before trying to visit most of Europe again.

Have seen at least a few posts over the last few days of folks mentioning plans to take the Eurostar from London to Paris so this new news is definitely relevant to them. Hopefully they spot the news!

I saw some posts on Instagram on Friday from French people trying to get home from London for Christmas before the closure went into effect Saturday — the photos of the lines at St Pancras were insane, they said they were in line for literally FOUR HOURS, and then the train itself was two hours late departing — a real calvaire, as the French would say.
