M25 Partial Closure May 10 to May 13

M25 Closure May 10 to May 13 Junctions 9 to 10

But something has happened to the thread - I can't reply to it and it doesn't show up on the All Topics view, so I have replicated it here

It will have severe consequences for anybody trying in a car, a taxi or bus to link Gatwick and Heathrow airports because the closure - in both directions - is at about 7:30 on a clock face if you see the M25 as similar to a clock, with Heathrow at around 9 and Gatwick below 6. Alternate routes are no fun.

Forewarned is forearmed.

what Stuart wrote:

For anyone travelling between Gatwick and Heathrow this weekend there
is a full closure of the M25 in both directions between Junctions 9
(Leatherhead) and 10 (Wisley) from 9pm on Friday May 10 and 6am on
Monday May 13.

This is the second of several such closures this year for major
roadworks.

Diversions will be on local roads, with delays expected.

Note that on the official diversion route the ULEZ (Ultra Low Emission
Zone) cameras will be switched off. However drivers who try finding
creative ways round using SatNav may be faced with ULEZ fines, as the
cameras will not be switched off on other routes.

From this week's TFL e-mail-

During this closure, long delays are expected in Chessington, Epsom and Tadworth. Drivers should avoid driving through the area and consider alternative options.
