Lydford Gorge

Hi,
Will be travelling from Penzance to Oxford and we're thinking of stopping along the way to walk the Lydford Gorge at Lydord.
The travel literature says it can be challenging. Does that mean scrambling over rocks, etc.? We're 2 relatively fit seniors but not looking for a "challenge" for a midway stop. We wouldn't want to allow more than 2-2.5 hrs for the walk? Doable?

It's pretty straightforward. Most of it is easy and the tricky bits aren't too hard. It depends how you define 'challenging' I suppose. It's very pretty. The village was a Saxon burgh, built as part of the fight against the Vikings, and you can still see some of the earthworks. Not far away is the Oxenham Arms in South Zeal, one of the best pubs in Devon.
