We are currently in London and will be visiting St. Paul’s near lunch time. Can anyone recommend a restaurant that has nice sandwiches or a pub with hand pulled beer taps? Thanks in advance!
I haven’t been in it, but 1-2 blocks from the cathedral is Ye Olde London pub at 42 Ludgate Hill. It has hand pulled beer and serves food.
Less than a 10 minute walk is the art nouveau Blackfriar pub.
A bit different than what you are asking about..... However, there were many really nice restaurants and cafes near the subway stop. I particularly liked the dumpling shop.
I wouldn't recommend this place for the food (which is just ok) but if you want cask ales in a very atmospheric setting I would stop by Ye Old Cheshire Cheese.
Thanks to everyone. We ended up finding a great sandwich shop called Sandwich Sandwich that offered several creative sandwiches with healthy, fresh ingredients added (arugula, cucumber, pesto, tomato, spinach, etc.). The sandwiches were huge and one is enough for two people. Would definitely go back there again!
Good to know, Martha—thanks!
