Lunch near St. James Park

We are planning a trip to London in early September. We are following Rick's suggested 7 day plan from his London 2015 guidebook. Day 2 has us eating lunch after walking through St. James Park before going on to see the Churchill War Rooms. Anyone have any suggestions for lunch around this area without walking north to Trafalgar Square? One of his maps mentions the Westminster Arms Pub, but there is no review in the book.

St. Stephen's Tavern is super close and would be super convenient (it's at 10 Bridge Street) and looks pretty decent... http://ststephenstavern.co.uk/ It also gets slightly better online reviews than the Westminster Arms. It looks gorgeous, too.

There's a Pret a Manger right next to the St. James's Park tube stop... they're always reliable and pretty cheap.

If it were me I'd walk over to the Pizza Express at 85 Victoria Street. I just LOVE their pizza.

Not sure if going over to Buckingham Palace is too far, since it's the opposite direction from the War Rooms (well, depending on where you start, obviously!) but I've eaten at the Bag O'Nails a couple of times (6 Buckingham Palace Road) - it's a Taylor Walker pub, so it's clean, friendly, and reliable.

Inside the east end of St. James Park is Inn the Park, a beautiful restaurant that's tucked in the park not far from the Churchill War Rooms - about a 5 - 8 minute walk. I love this place and it's exactly where you need to be! Not as cheap as a pub but memorable and the food is quite good - both indoor and outdoor seating.
