Luggage storage St Pancras

It looks like I’m going to have several hours in London between my train arrival and when I would like to go out to Heathrow to spend the night for a very early flight the next morning. Since my flight is at 7 AM, I really don’t want to worry about getting out of London up to the airport so I will be sleeping at the airport

Has anyone used any of the luggage storage options near the station?

I know that there’s one in the station but a couple of reviews I’ve read have said they have really long lines and of course they seem rather expensive. But I’m very hesitant to use some of these other locations because I feel like there is no security. (and I will have my company laptop with me, which I would hate to lose ).

I was just curious if anybody had had any experience with any of the services. I did a search, but the topics seem to be several years old so I wanted to see if there was any more recent information.

I would go with the left luggage storage at St. Pancras. I haven't used it, but my cousin did a few years ago and said it worked fine for her. It will be the most secure and probably the most convenient. You're right; it will be expensive but there's a price for extra security. Here's the website link, so you can price it out yourself if you like: https://www.left-baggage.co.uk/en/prices

ETA: Carol, one thought just occurred to me. Have you thought about storing the luggage but putting your laptop in a small backpack and carrying it with you while you enjoy London? I would probably do that, as I hate my laptop leaving my side. :-)

The “official” storage place in St Pancras also has a couple of supplementary locations - across the street at King's Cross. I have had to use that when the one inside St Pancras was full.

I'm like you Carol, I would be wary of leaving a company laptop at one of the other spots.

The Left Baggage website for St Pancras also mentions the possibility to pre-reserve your luggage storage and says you then get “fast track” service. Since you have your date and know you definitely want to store your lusggsge that day, that might be a worthwhile option to consider.

Kim
That’s a great price of information. I think I’ll reserve at the official spot.

Thanks

I haven't used the ones at Kings Cross / St Pancras but I have used the Excess Baggage twin at Euston just down the road. I used it when I was working at Euston and didn't want to leave my bag in the company Mess Room. I appreciate the extra security too, and the fact that they x-ray everything. There has been enough railway based terrorism in the last few dozen years that having the x-raying helps. The competitors don't do that. No mates rates for me, and I thought the service value for money.

I've recommended it several times over the years.
