In trying to plan our trip, I'm considering taking the bus from Bath to Glastonbury (see the sites) to Exeter (drop off niece at university). Does anyone know if there is a luggage/baggage storage location in Glastonbury? I've not been able to find any information online.
Dawn,
We drove our rental car to Glastonbury and Wells on a day trip from Bath in 2017. We didn't use the bus and are not familiar with the bus station, but I can say that Glastonbury is a town, not very large. It may not have luggage lockers. It is well worth a visit, as is Wells with its Cathedral.
Glastonbury is a waste of time. Nearby Wells is OK. The roads in this area are very slow and twisting. Consider taking the train direct from Bath to Exeter - you will probably have to change at Bristol (Temple Meads). Cheapest fares will be for specific trains pre-booked about 11 weeks ahead. www.nationalrail.co.uk (It may be cheaper to pay on the day for the short hop Bath > Bristol and just pre-book Bristol > Exeter). Also check the pay on the day fares.
Opinions vary on Glastonbury. If you enjoy crystals and incense, or if you fancy seeing Chalice Well, the ruined Abbey, and a walk up Glastonbury Tor, then by all means go for it.
You can email the Tourist Information Centre to ask if they have luggage storage, or if not whether there's a pub or a B&B near the bus stop where you could drop your bags for the day. http://www.glastonburytic.co.uk/contact/
Thank you all for responding. I'm rethinking plans. Will probably see Cardiff for a day trip, then head to Exeter from Bath. Reading reviews of Glastonbury, I'm not sure it's what I thought. I'm not into new age mysticism, crystals, and the like.
