We are planning to travel by train around the London area after our Best of Southern England tour ends in June in Bath, and we'd like to spend that first day in Winchester, and then travel on to London late in the afternoon. I've read somewhere in my research that there is no luggage storage facility at or near the train station in Winchester. There does seem to be an inn that will store luggage but it's on the outskirts of town and would involve walking about a mile out of town to drop off luggage. And then of course, walking back into town and at the end of the day, reversing the process.
Is anyone aware of someplace more centrally located that will keep our carryons for the day so we're not encumbered with them as we sight-see?
