We are traveling to the Cotswalds and staying in Moreton-in-Marsh for a few days. After that, my plan is to stop at the Blenheim Palace and then on to Oxford where we will stay overnight, tour the town the next day and leave for London late afternoon. We are using public transportation exclusively and so will have our luggage with us. I cannot find a place to store our luggage at Blenheim Palace (guidebook says very limited storage) or in Woodstock. Has anyone found a way to store luggage around Blenheim Palace? Do we need to go to Oxford, store luggage, and then to Blenheim Palace? It seems that we're going out of our way. Any advice would be helpful! Thank you.
Could you drop your luggage off at your Oxford hotel before you take the bus to Blenheim?
Alternatively, I assume that you will be coming by train from Moreton-in-Marsh to Oxford and then taking the bus to Blenheim. Nannybag shows a restaurant not far from the train station that stores luggage. You might check nannybag or stasher to look for a luggage storage location that is near the Oxford train station or one of the stops along the bus route.
Yes, thank you, I did check in Oxford. Since we're coming from Moreton-in-Marsh it seems like it would be more efficient to go directly to Blenheim rather than to Oxford and then backtracking to Blenheim. Thank you for your help!
I would have expected the fastest and easiest way for the Moreton in Marsh to Blenheim journey would have been the train direct to Oxford and the bus to Blenheim. That's the way I'd do it - the bus deposits you at the entry. Getting off before and taking the long cross country walk all the way around to the entry would make me tired, and Blenheim is a vast place with loads of walking already. Tickets aren't cheap so you want your money's worth.
So for me, it isn't really backtracking
Thank you for your help!
Recently we researched something similar. The only luggage storage we could find for Bleinham Palace were places in Oxford (ex. Stasher, Nannybag, etc).
You can also take a direct train to Hanborough from Moreton in Marsh, then a shorter bus ride to Bleinham (compared to the bus from Oxford). But we had no luck finding luggage storage near Hanborough Station or in Woodstock.
You are correct that Bleinham Palace has only smaller lockers for daypacks and smaller bags. It seems like dropping your bags in Oxford then taking the bus to Bleinham would be a workable option.
Yes, I think so too. Thank you
