Luggage storage

My wife and I will be spending several weeks traveling around Scotland and England almost totally by rail, but we have some dress clothing (gowns, coat and tie, etc) that we won't need until the end of our trip. Can anyone suggest a way to store a suitcase or two for up to a month so we can avoid carrying unnecessary bags on and off trains?

Try to reduce your extra clothing to one bag. If using the same hotel beginning and end, they might be willing to store your bag for a period. Check in advance. You are asking a lot to store two big bags for more than a few days. Storage at a facility would be expensive for a month. There are ship-ahead services that will take you bags and deliver to another location. Find them on the internet. Again, it will be expensive.

The Excess Baggage Company, at all major London stations, will store for a month, but it will cost you £320.

At 320 it might be cheaper to buy what you need after you arrive.

Many thanks to all who answered!!! My wife and I have pretty much given up the idea of storage and are brutally pruning the list of clothes we're gong to take to stay within a one bag limit for each of us. (a la Rick Steves' approach). We are also researching launderette locations in each place we plan to visit!!
