Luggage size

I am planing on taking a one day small group tour out of London next year to visit the Cotswolds. I need to bring my approximately 20 inch by 15 inch suitcase with me on the trip. In general, is there a luggage size restriction? If so, do you know what it could be? Thank you.

This is probably a question to ask of the tour company, whoever that is.

Sorry but I am confused. Why do you need your suitcase for a day trip? That seems excessive unless you are changing hotels on your return to London.

Next year I'm planning to take several day trip with Rabbies, two out of London to Cotswolds and York and two out of Killarney north and south. They pick up and drop off at the same location. My luggage is staying at the hotel since I will be back there each night. For the day tour, I am taking a small backpack plus my purse. Those should hold everything I need for the day.

To specifically answer your tour's day trip size luggage limitations, it should be listed on their website. Or you can email the company to clarify.

Enjoy your trip.

EDIT: Maybe I'm misunderstanding what you call a "suitcase". Is this your personal item used on the plane? Maybe a large tote? If so, you can find nylon packable shopping bags in souvenir stores that weigh 2oz, snap to your purse until needed, but they are large enough to hold a sweater, water bottle and purchases. I buy and use them on my trips; much easier to carry than a larger tote or a backpack.

You should ask the tour operator if they can accommodate your suitcase. Day tours are typically for people without luggage so it will depend on the type of vehicle they are using and whether there is any additional space for luggage.

For a day tour with a company like Rabbie's they say about luggage --

Luggage
You're restricted to 14kg (31lbs) of luggage per person. This should be one piece of luggage similar to an airline carry-on bag (approximately 55cm x 45cm x 25cm / 22in x 17in x 10in) plus one small bag for onboard personal items.

This is for one of their day tours which generally start in the morning around let's say 8am and ends about 5-7pm.

Thank you for the specific details regarding the weight and size of luggage allowed on a small group tour. I tried finding this information out on several tour company websites but I was not able to find out the answer to my question. The reason I needed this info was because I am thinking of staying in the Cotswolds at the end of the tour and not returning to London that same day. Thanks again for the helpful advice.

maybe get to Moreton in Marsh under your own steam (train from London Paddington Station), leave your luggage at your hotel or at a third party luggage stasher, and get a tour starting there?

A lot of the time on a London based tour of the Cotswolds will be spent in negotiating (often on roads with a 20 mph limit) the heavy London traffic, and the same on the return. If you get a Moreton in Marsh based tour you will start and finish right in the middle of what you want to see - no tedious crawling through London and long stretches of Motorway.

I’m taking a very similar tour with London Walks later this month I hope and my tour actually takes the train to the Cotswolds and then you get on the minivan. If you’re taking that tour, I would definitely contact the tour company because that one might not have room for luggage.

You might check with Go Cotswolds. For Go Cotswolds, you take the train to Moreton-in-Marsh where they meet you. There was one couple on my tour who were staying in the Cotswolds and the company was able to carry their luggage and drop them in the town they were staying in on the return to Moreton-in-Marsh. They had spoken with the company in advance of the trip about this.
