Luggage restriction on Rabbies tour

We have booked a tour of Ireland with another firm, then a few days later, we have a five day Rabbies Tour of Cornwall and Devon.

We will be away from home for 18 days and even packing lite will need more than a carryon size bag for the trip.
Rabbies allows a carryon sized bag, not a regular sized airline checked bag.

I just asked Rabbies if we could pay a fee to bring one bag that exceeds their limits.

Does anyone have any experience with this?

Another option is to ask the Premier Inn where we are staying before and after the tour to leave a bag there for some days.

The Rabbie’s van we were on does have a small rack above the seats where our backpacks fit. The space is narrow; ours were more daypack size than luggage size. There were some Aussies on our trip that had bigger than carryon luggage. I would guess space would depend on how many of the 16 passengers showed up with larger-than-carryon luggage.

I've left bags at hotels for extended periods while doing other things not requiring their contents. It does require circling back through but sounds like you'll be doing that anyway.

I have done 5 Rabbies tours. I had a 19 inch carry on and a very full backpack. People had larger luggage than me and it was accepted. I did that Cornwall and Devon tour and we had a marvelous time. Tintangel was beautiful. The Minack theatre was a delight. It was all good- stunning scenery from Poldark and Doc Martin too. Enjoy!

I took a tour with a different company in Scotland with the same policy. The limit was because there was not enough room for larger bags. In our case, the hotel we were staying at after the tour (a smaller, independent hotel) ended agreed to hold our extra stuff.

You can ask PI, but they will probably charge you. You could also try stasher. The Premier Inn you are staying in is probably one of their storage locations.

I messaged with Rabbies and our hotel.
Rabbies said they couldn't accept our full sized luggage, but we could bring ONE piece of larger luggage for TWO persons.

Also, our Premier Inn said that we could leave luggage with them while on the Rabbies tour.

I think we can make it work.

Rabbies said that we also get to take an item with us, like a woman's purse and man's briefcase, but have to keep it with us in the minibus.
