Looking for a nice neighborhood and hotel recs for London!

Hi everyone! I hope you can help me out! My husband, 10 year-old daughter and I are going to London in June and I’m looking for advice as to what the nice neighborhoods we should stay in, and specific hotels to check out.

My preference would be to stay in a neighborhood with a park like setting, not a “Times Square” super crowded and touristy feel. But also close to any hop on hop off bus stops. Maybe near Hyde or St. James Parks? And a wonderful London feel.

For hotels - anything under $400, need enough beds for 3 people, free wi-fi, air conditioning and elevator are a must (I’ve had 11 knee surgeries!) I also want a hotel that has London decor or feel. I don’t want a generic, bland hotel.

Any recommendations or advice would be greatly appreciated! Can’t wait!!!

I've been following this kind of question from other posters over the last couple months. We're hoping to return to London this fall. If you look in the England feed I think you'll find many comments about good neighbourhoods. We stayed in the Pimlico area last time and were very happy. Use booking.com and some of the filters they provide for accommodation selection. That will give you some idea of what's available.

You have a good budget! I would highly recommend the Conrad St. James. It's just around the corner from Westminster Abbey and a couple of blocks from St. James Park. Very comfortable rooms that are a cut above, really good breakfast, and fantastic service. Their price fluctuates seasonally...last time I stayed I paid about $320 per night US. I also got a discount and an upgraded room with my Chase Sapphire credit card. If you play your cards / points you can get good deals in London.

Thank you both for your recommendations. And both of these hotels have rooms for 3 people? All the hotels I was looking at only had one bed in the room. Is this typical of London?

I love the Kensington area of London. Upscale, quieter, but right off the Circle line and easy Tube ride away from everything.

You say you don't want a "generic" hotel but you'll find that many of those are going to be the ones that have multiple beds or room for more than 2 people. Here are some that I have found that either have suites or multiple beds:
