Hello,
My daughter and I will be traveling through London on our way home from Portugal next July, and we have 2 and 1/2 days to tour (not long, I know!). I thought it might be fun to find a good B&B, but I don't know if, in the traditional sense of the word, they are run that way anymore. I've looked at the Oxford St. Hostel, many listings on AirBnB as well as those on VRBO. But, with just two of us, I think that it might be just as affordable to go to a B&B. Of course, I'm open to other options! I have been in the Kensington area previously and am very familiar with it, so that's the area I'm thinking. But, truly, we are flexible.
Many thanks!
Becky

We found them to be quite accommodating...nothing fancy, but clean and friendly.
I can heartily recommend the Malt House in Fulham. The rooms are quaint, the location is interesting and the food downstairs is fabulous:

Enjoy your trip!
I've had good luck with two different B&B networks: At Home in London and London Home to Home. They each have a number of hosts all over London, and there are a range of options. My daughter and I stayed in a townhouse in Chiswick once, with our own room and bathroom, and another time in an apartment near the Gloucester Road tube stop, where we had our own room but shared a bathroom with the hostess. I enjoyed chatting with our hostesses at both locations.
Have a great trip!
If you're actually looking to stay in someone's home, I had a good experience with londonbb.com.
