On these forums for England and Scotland I often see questions about rain gear. I've kept my eyes open for long raincoats as I like protecting my legs without having to put on rain pants. Just wanted to note that a "new arrivals" email from London Fog included a women's long raincoat that reaches lower calf on the model . . . but it's already sold out, so I guess I'm not the only one interested in this type of garment!

We used a “cagoule” or long rain jacket when hiking in the Highlands years ago. Sierra designs sells them for about $69.00. You might also check on Amazon. Best wishes!
