I was originally planning London for June but circumstances have changed. I am now looking into mid-March. I am assuming it might be a little cold, possibly rainy and of course less daylight. This will not bother me but I am wondering what to pack. I usually do Europe in the summer so that is usually t-shirts and shorts. This will be a new ballgame for me. Thanks for any advice and experience.
As the old saying goes, Hope for the best plan for the worst.
As Emma mentioned, layering is important. When I travel to London, I always carry my gore tex rain coat regardless of the season.

It's impossible to predict. A couple of years ago we had close to zero temperatures and snow, although that's rare.

This describes the main features of the climate of Southern England
from Kent westwards to Wiltshire and DorsetMuch of the eastern half of this area is densely populated, as it
includes Greater London and centres of population such as Reading, Slough, Southampton, Portsmouth,
Brighton and the Medway towns.
Means are one thing to consider but as others note, prepare for the extremes. Of course, London's a pretty big city and you could buy clothing for the extremes if need be.
March is the driest month of the year - on average - in London.
March 21st is Spring Equinox = 12 hours of daylight! (Today is mid-winter’s day).
