London V&A Friday nights: How much of the museum is open?

Hello all!

Thank you for the abundance of helpful advice I've seen here, though I haven't seen this one yet: V&A is open late on Friday evenings, but only "selected galleries". The exhibition we're interested in will be open late and the shop & cafe will be open as well, though I can't seem to find which galleries will be open past 17:45.

I've sent a note to the museum, but would like to know if anyone here has experience with this? Many thanks!

Last September it was the ground floor that was open late. Be aware that a central section of the ground floor (Asian decorative art, I think) is partially lit by skylights in the daytime. Needless to say, there's not a lot of light coming in through those skylights at night. Not so much of an issue if you're traveling around the longest day of the year, but a bit of a challenge at other times. The lighting was really not adequate for me in September. So if that part of the museum is particularly important to you, don't leave it till late in the evening. Other sections of the ground floor have more artificial lighting.
