London to Windsor Castle

Are there any labor issues delaying rail travel for South Kensington are to Windsor Castle? What is the best rail station to depart from? Staying in London from May 9th to May 22nd.

The only strike action affecting Windsor is the ASLEF strike on 12 May.
On that day GWR will not be running any trains to Windsor and Eton Central.
South West Trains timetables are not yet published for that day, but they are currently suggesting a near normal timetable that day, including to Windsor and Eton Riverside.

There are four basic routes-
1. Circle line 5 stops to Paddington, then Elizabeth Line or GWR train to Slough, then the Slough to W and E Central.
2. Circle or District line 5 stops the other way to Embankment then Northern or Bakerloo line 1 stop to Waterloo, then South West Trains to W & E Riverside. (as a variant you can change at the previous station, Westminster, onto the Jubilee line to Waterloo
3. District Line westbound train to Richmond (which is a terminus), then join a Windsor Riverside train there.
4. Change at Victoria (2 stops from South Kensington) to the Victoria line 2 stops southbound to Vauxhall, to join a Riverside train there.

People on this forum usually prefer the faster Paddington route. I personally prefer the slower Waterloo route (for it's longer trains)- it's the route I always used to take when staying at the Castle with a friend who worked there.

Take whichever you want, but every time this question is asked the Waterloo route gets drowned out with a chorus of the Paddington route. Both are centrally located. There is no "right or wrong", just personal preference.
You have to use the same route to return as tickets are not interchangeable between routes.
Central is a flatter route to the castle and a bit closer to the public entrance.
As it's name suggests Riverside is closer to the River for boat trips.
