London to Salisbury (transportation to hotel from train station)

We are planning to take the train from London to Salisbury on a Sunday since we have a circle access tour at 5:00am Monday morning. We are struggling to find a car rental place since most are closed on Sunday. How can we get to our hotel in Amesbury and then to our early access circle at Stonehenge without a car????

Any help would be appreciated. Also any thoughts on the best accommodations for a family of 4.

You could either take an National Express bus (15 minute ride) there is one hourly or a taxi. You probably could arrange a taxi to pick you up at 4:30am to meet up with your tour.

Paula, Since you will arrive in Salisbury by train, a taxi will probably be the most hassle free way to get to the hotel in Amesbury since it is only 7 or 8 miles away. Stonehenge is only a short distance (less than 3 miles) from Amesbury so once again a taxi might be the most efficient way. If you know the hotel in which you'll stay in Amesbury try sending them an email explaining your situation and ask for their recommendation. They probably have guest needing this so info and can perhaps advise you.
