Has anyone else done this route via tube / train? Any suggestions? We would be starting and returning to our flat near Camden Town. My wife and I will have our boys, ages 15 and 12. Thanks.
From IWM Duxford’s website - https://www.iwm.org.uk/visits/iwm-duxford#info_listing_20460. The train stations aren’t that close to Duxford, but it’s worth making the effort to get there, as it’s an interesting day out.
Would love to help, but we’ll have a car when we visit there on an upcoming trip.
Thank you for the insights.
We took the bus from Cambridge, as mentioned in the RS book a few years ago. Walking from the bus to the museum was one of the most dangerous walks I've taken -- and I am a walker! For quite a while there was no sidewalk or even shoulder to walk along a very busy road. You might look into taking a cab from a nearby train station for time and safety sake. The museum is awesome!
