London theater tickets

I'm looking for suggestions for trustworthy online sites through which to buy London theater tickets. Many available, but I worry about reliability. Thank you.

The most reliable would be the official website for the theatre hosting the performance.

We have attended several plays at the National Theatre so bought tickets on their site:

https://www.nationaltheatre.org.uk

Same with the Globe Theatre.

Since I discovered theatremonkey.com I have relied on that site for all the info - where to get the best prices on tickets (never had a problem with any of the sites they linked to), where to sit, which plays to see, etc. etc.

I used the theatremonkey website to purchase my tickets for Queen Anne by the Royal Shakespeare Company which was on at the Theatre Royal Haymarket. It was marvelous, we were there Sept. 15, just 2 weeks ago, sigh.

I also saw The Mousetrap and purchased my ticket on the morning of the play at the theatre box office.

"The most reliable would be the official website for the theatre hosting the performance. "

This is extremely important, particularly for hot shows with lots of re-sellers selling marked up tickets. Let's say I want tickets to The Lion King in London; here's my procedure.

1) I Google "Lion King London official website." Again, there can be many that seem official, so it's important to get the real one. For instance, when I omit the words "official website," I get something called Lion King Box Office - which isn't the real box office at all

2) On the official website, there is always a prominent link to buy tickets. I see for The Lion King, there are two - from the box office and from Disney - but that's very unusual. A non-Disney show only has one official ticket seller.

Of course, if it's not such a hot show, there can be legitimate discounts available, through Theatremonkey, What's On Stage http://www.whatsonstage.com/west-end-theatre/discount-tickets/, and others. But, first check what regular priced tickets cost from the official website, so you can make sure you're not getting marked up tickets, but are getting a real discount.

http://www.theatremonkey.com (mentioned above), lists the agent for the official box office. The official agent will generally have the lowest fees, but any of the agents listed on theatremonkey are legitimate.
