To walk.

But if you prefer other modes of transport I'd suggest the train or bus, which one is the best partly depends on where in London you are going.

Take a coach like National express to Stratford, zone 2 and change to transport for London trains, tube or bus

there are a number of choices, depending on exactly where in London you want to go and how cheap you want to be.

One of the cheapest may well be EASYbus or National Express to Victoria Coach Station and walk.

All above answers are valid.

For the suggestion to walk, it is a fair way to walk to anywhere in London.

Well cheap is fairly relative. If you take the cheapest option(£10) which will more than likely be the coach with will either arrive at Victoria then you either have to walk from the Coach Station to the train station (about 5 mins) to continue the rest of your journey. You will more than likely still have to buy a train ticket for the underground or charge an oyster card. In addition to the time you would have lost on the coach considering London traffic sometimes.

I would recommend the Liverpool Street-Stansted Express which is around £9.70 and runs every 30 mins. A lot quicker than the coach also as you arrive within the station with plenty of underground lines, and buses to continue your journey. If you are with others I would recommend spliting an Uber fare. See these London airport transport tips for more transport options from the airport.

I would suggest taking the Stansted Express every 30 mins into London. You will need to change for the Underground depending on where you are heading. No need to get an Oyster card, just tap and go through the underground turnstiles with your credit card. The National Express is fine too. Easy to find at Stansted but will take you to Victoria and take about 1.5 -2 hours depending on traffic.

If you get the National Express bus to London, it's a good idea to get a ticket to Stratford railway station. You can then take the train or tube into central London without sitting around on the bus in London traffic jams.
