London Sightseeing and Cruise

Travelling from Canada to cruise out of Southampton May/26, will spend couple days in London and then train to Southampton; is it better to stay closer to Victoria Station or Waterloo to do both? Thank you

The direct trains from London to Southampton leave from Waterloo, so if you want to be near the station that's the one to stay near.
