London Pass - mobile app?

Has anyone had any recent experience with using the mobile app version of the London Pass. I'm thinking this is way more convenient than having to go and pick it up. Thanks

Before you jump off the dock with the very expensive London Pass be sure that you will get back some of the price that it costs.

Most museums in London are free, the big expensive attractions often participate in a 2 for 1 scheme, often tickets for those not in the scheme are less expensive online, and the London Pass throws in a whole shedload of 3rd or 4th level quality to bulk up the perceived value.

Have you worked it out?

Agree with Nigel. Do the math. The Pass most often doesn’t add up savings wise.

I have a plan to use the London Pass because the numbers DO add up for my plans. I would be interested in hearing the answer to the OP's question, if the mobile app version is good, or does it have any glitches that anyone has had experience with?

I am interested in this too. I would be using it For Hampton Court, Windsor Castle, the Royal Observatory, the hop on hop off bus and possibly a river cruise. I’m trying to do the math to figure out if this is a good deal. And if transportation is covered, it might save me money. Any thoughts? I’m based in Victoria and am looking at the 2 or 3 day pass.

I’m also interested, having done the math and considering our itinerary. Nigel, you’re correct. On previous trips to London, the London Pass was not a savings for us, but it seems to be so this time. Thanks for the heads up!

We used the London Pass via the mobile app at the end of May with no problems. It was very convenient to just use the app, and we did find the pass itself to be a savings overall.

I used the mobile app for London Pass in January and it worked just fine. My friend had his mailed to his home and it too worked just fine. No difference really. As others have mentioned check the numbers - it was worth it for us because while my friend had never been to London, I had been there several times and was familiar with the transportation system and where the sites were located so there was no down time trying to figure it out.

Thanks everyone, for the input. So its about a wash for the pass and attraction prices. The bonus would be the hop on hop off bus, which would be taken just when we get there for the view and experience of driving around for a bit. I realize this isn't the most efficient way of getting around. Also, I'm wondering if I would still have to line up to get tickets at the attractions or if the pass will actually get me in the door. As an example, we are on a Stonehenge tour that stops at Windsor Castle. Would I be able to walk in (of course waiting for security) or will I still have to wait for a ticket as well. Then its not so much worth it.

I found that having the pass speeded entry time up. Sometimes showing (and scanning) the pass on my phone was enough, other times they would review my pass and then issue a hard copy entry ticket which was then shown (and sometimes scanned). At no time did we wait in line with people waiting to purchase a ticket. At Windsor Castle we both walked directly up to the entry gate, showed our passes, and walked right in, no muss no fuss.

I was in London a couple of weeks ago during their heatwave (I though the weather was perfect) and tried out the BIG BUS HOHO just to see the city rather than specific sites and to work on my suntan. They have three different bus routes and I rode all three of them. It did take most of the day mainly due to traffic so if I were going to visit a specific place or area I would just use the Underground as it is faster. For an adult it was £37 for the day with no river cruise or night tour. It was £44 for two days and the river cruise and night tour. They have an app where you can buy a ticket but I thought it was more of a pain than anything. In any case the first time you try and use the app ticket they will convert it to a paper ticket to use from then on. I would just buy a ticket from an attendant or bus driver. During this trip I did not use a London Pass so I don't know what discounts there may be if any.
