London Off-Peak Day Travelcard using Friends & Family Discount

Has anyone had a National Rail Friends & Family Card and used the discount for the London Underground? Here is what the website says:

Can I use my Railcard for tickets for travel on the London
Underground? A: With your Railcard you can get 1/3 off a London Zones
1-6 Off-Peak Day Travelcard (subject to a minimum fare which is
currently £8.00) and an Anytime Day Travelcard when bought as part of
your journey to London from outside London Zones 1-9 (subject to a
minimum fare which is currently £17.50).

I am confused about the minimum fare comment. Is that a minimum per person or per family or what? From what I can tell, the current regular cost per adult is £12.30 and child is £6.10. So that would be £8.24 per adult so that meets the minimum but does that mean that the kids get no discount?

Just trying to read all of this right.

We are getting the London Pass so I am trying to decide if I should include travel on that or use this discount for the Travel cards.

So confusing - thanks!

Look on the TfL site as it is all given in a table.

Basically for Z1-6 children pay £2.30, adults pay £8.10.

However, depending on your arrangements a pay-as-you-go Oyster might work out better for some days. See your previous thread.
