London NYE - Show at the Wanamaker - Logistics of Traveling Back to Hotel

Hi all-
I am looking at going to a show at the Sam Wanamaker Theater on NYE. We are staying near the Earl's Court tube station. My question is, how crazy is it libel to be traveling back to our hotel afterwards? It will be around 9:30 or 10PM. We're fine with a crowded train but not sure what to expect in the area since it's so close to the river. I really appreciate the feedback!

Is this the show with Meow Meow? She is fantastic. We saw her in Midsummer Night’s Dream last year and would love to see her again sometime.

The Globe is pretty far downriver from the fireworks area, so it may not be all that crowded. But if you catch the tube on the south side of the river, your only choice is the Jubilee Line and you will have to change to get to Earl’s Court. You might consider crossing over on the Millenium Bridge and taking the District Line from Blackfriers or Mansion House.

Lola, yes it’s Apocalypse Meow! It looks like it’s right up our alley! Thanks for the info, I think we’ll be good. I’ll let you know how it is.

I agree with Lola - walk to Mansion House rather than London Bridge, it's similar distance and you won't have to change lines.

Hi Emma,
Thanks for the info, it's great to be prepared! I've been stuck transportation wise while traveling during holidays so now I try to get a feel of what to expect.

I was a solo traveler in London for the Millennium and the tubes were all running and pretty full. After midnight..I got on a train at the station in front of Westminster Abbey - I had no problem getting back to my hotel across the street from Gloucester Road tube station. I was surprised and amused that many of young people dress in costumes for the evening - like we do for Halloween.
