London Museum

The Museum of London - now the London Museum has announced that it will open at it's new location November 28

Shucks! I mean good for them, but this has been one I have been waiting for. Got to visit before they closed and was hoping I'd time it right for their reopening. I'll miss it though by about a month, hopefully someone here can enjoy it.

Good!

I was down that way last week. I trust the meaty aroma that was pervasive when the market was there will be gone.

Count me as excited. We're planning to be in London next April if we get tickets for the Bayeaux Tapestry at the Britush Museum. Ironically, I've been vocal about my love for the London Museum over the British Museum. Now I get to see both. My wife is already rolling her eyes, I promised her the London portion of the visit would only be a couple of days.

I've enjoyed the London Museum more than the British Museum. I went the first time back in 2017 and the last time in March 2022, before my accident. Picked up some great book there and I did get photos of a cool c1340 candle holder that I made a copy of. I was able to get photos of an intact 1st century Roman oil lamp similar to the Roman lamp excavated in the Jamestown Rediscovery Project - https://historicjamestowne.org/collections/artifacts/roman-oil-lamp/

I'm glad it's finally reopening but so disappointed that we will miss it. Again. By only 3 weeks.
