Kind of depends on where in London but look at Premier Inns - they are all over the city.

We stayed at the Hampton by Hilton Waterloo block and half from Waterloo station just before Covid and are staying again this July. Good prices, very clean and great breakfast..

The train to Paris leaves from St Pancras station. My suggestion is the Premier Inn St. Pancras across from the station. I've stayed there twice.

The train to Paris is out of St Pancras - but it's served by an Underground station with six lines so no need to tie yourself to that area. Pick your area, don't take too early a train out

you should probably do a search by your desired room rate or hotel chain, as noted it's not hard to get anywhere in London via Tube
