Hi for our first visit to London we've made reservations at this Mariott hotel at Park Lane. We chose it for the location. Is this a good choice? Are there nearby breakfast options very near the hotel? Thanks.
Found this on your hotel's website: http://www.marriott.com/hotels/local-things-to-do/lonpl-london-marriott-hotel-park-lane/ Click on Dining Nearby.
There are tons of shops and restaurants all along Oxford St. and side streets nearby.
Here's the best way to find what is around your accommodation. Use Google Maps satellite view. Type in the address of your hotel, when the image appears you'll see the option Search Nearby, type in Cafes or Restaurants or Pubs, click and Bob's your uncle. Also good for locating ATM's and Underground Stations. Can also help you decide if you wish to walk or use public transport to get to a "site." With a little practice you can also use the marvelous Street View option. Grab onto the little gold human icon and drag it to your map. Boom, you're on the streets of London. I'm no computer nerd or 20 year old. Simply a seasoned traveler who has chosen to appreciate the magic of the internet. Learned how to make it work for me when I travel. Great travel tool. Enjoy London. Fabulous city!!!
Thanks for the tips! Google maps is indeed great : )
I see that this hotel offers rates both with and without breakfast at their restaurant. On my last visit to London, it seemed to me that branches of Starbucks, Costa, and Pret a Manger had all expanded to be found on nearly every street corner, and especially near Tube stations.
