Where is the best place to store luggage for a day in London? We are coming into Victoria station in the mid morning, and have activities planned for the day. Our hotel doesn’t allow check-in until late afternoon. What do people usually do in this situation?
Most hotels will allow you to leave your luggage there and will keep it for you until you check in.
Also there are companies that specialize in storing luggage. Two of them are: https://www.citystasher.com/search/London,%20UK?lat=51.5073509&long=-0.12775829999998223&luggages=1; andhttps://www.citystasher.com/search/London,%20UK?lat=51.5073509&long=-0.12775829999998223&luggages=1
We have a trip to England at the end of May and will be trying one of these.
Ask your hotel, storing luggage is extremely common with so many long haul flights that arrive into London in the morning. Travelodge charges a small fee and I've had a couple places ask me to donate a pound for charity. But, no tip is required and you may even luck out and your room will be available.
Victoria rail station has left luggage but it’s quite expensive - about £10 a bag for the day. It’s very secure, though.
Victoria coach station, ten minutes down the road, is a little cheaper.
My preferred option though is always to drop it off at my hotel. Unless it’s a Travelodge, you’ll usually find the hotel is more than happy to keep the bags for you - and sometimes I’ve even been offered early check-in just by turning up.
