London in Feb or March

Looking at planning a trip to London for 2015 and was thinking about booking during my daughters spring break. She has two breaks, one in Mid-Feb and on starting Mar. 21st, 2015. Has anyone traveled to London in March and was the weather too prohibitive to enjoy London?

thanks,
David

I 've been all over the UK and Ireland in February and had a great time. In Northern England we had some light snow and it made everything even seem more picturesque .
The great thing is , there are many indoor sights that are worth seeing , so be flexible and enjoy. Many museums in London are free. Also, There's not many things better than a warm English pub on a cold night.
Cheers.

Coming from Miami, you may have difficulty adjusting to London's weather, whenever you come. Of course, since London's weather is - well, I'll be tactful and say it's not like Miami's - most of the attractions are indoors and not weather dependent. The thing I find difficult about London weather is that it's much damper than I'm used to (even coming from New York), which makes the temperatures feel different. When it's 50 degrees F in London, I feel like it's 35. The problem is if I dress the way I do when it's 50 in New York, I freeze; if I dress for the 35 it feels like to me, I roast (because it's really still 50). The solution for me is several cotton layers, with no wool. You will have to adopt your own answers, but do be prepared for an adjustment in your clothes.

David,

My first time in London was in a March. The weather from my perspective was fine. just some overcast days. probably cooler for you though.

happy trails.

I think London would be great anytime. If you are asking which to choose, March will have longer daylight hours and probably better weather.

Weather in March is clearly better on average than February, although there are exceptions - for example last year March was colder than January let alone February.

There is no wet season in London, rainfall being fairly evenly distributed. In the summer though much of this is through thunderstorms, whilst in the winter it is more frontal. Nevertheless it doesn't rain every day and the annual rainfall is less than half that if Miami.

Daylight is the other difference about an hour and a half more mid March than mid Feb. Summer time begins on 29 March in 2015.

"Weather too prohibitive to enjoy..." I don't even understand the question, frankly. ;-) Seriously, London is an AMAZING and FABULOUS city and no amount of sleet, drizzle, hail, dust devils, water spouts with sharks, or invading hordes of kraken could possibly make it un-enjoyable!

Okay, in fairness, maybe the hordes of kraken would put a damper on things. But of course, London doesn't get those in March. Nor does it get much sleet or hail or snow. It is rather clement in March, there are sunny days and cloudy days, and if you don't fancy sightseeing outside if it's cloudy, there is sooooo much to do inside that you won't go begging for choice.
