Sorry. I ment I don‘t like hotels with breakfast buffets (For me, this is a necessary evil, because there are now almost only hotels that offer a buffet-style breakfast).
Before I decide on a hotel, I first check whether the hotel avoids buffets and still serves its guests their meals at the table. (Buffet rooms in my opionen often very loud and dirty). I’m a bit of an ‘old-school’ sort and feel much more at ease in that sort of setting. So I’d be delighted to read here if there’s another hotel like that, apart from the Chesterfield.
I think the idea of the Dorchester, Savoy and so on is a good one. I might book an interesting hotel and reserve a table there for breakfast. Although, the last time we were at the Dorchester for dinner, we were absolutely delighted. I think the Dorchester is more my first choice for afternoon tea and/or to have dinner.
(Five star rates like Chesterfield. 5 star Dorchester, Ritz …is not my money purse :-; for overnight rates).
