London Hotels at Christmas - Family friendly

Hi,

We will be in London from December 24-27. Two adults and 2 kids (16 and 11).

If we don’t want to get an Airbnb, what are recommendations for family suites near great restaurants, shops and sites? I’m also interested in Christmas decor and lights and traditional English style. My husband and son are very tall so full beds won’t work. Would like to keep under $1000 a night so trying to avoid paying for 2 adjoining rooms.

Any recommendations are appreciated. Struggling.

Thanks!

Look at the Premiere Inn chain of hotels. Book SOON.

By the way you are aware there is NO public transport ( busses, trains and London Underground) on Christmas day.

Have spent many Christmases in London. What do you consider typical English style?

If you were to buy and read the RS Guidebook on London you’d learn about the various neighborhoods, public transport, street markets, and sites. VERY helpful guide with practical intel. Such as options how to get from Heathrow into London.

Great city. Lots to see: Winter Wonderland in Hyde Park. Oxford and Regents Street Christmas Lights. Igloo dinning along the Thames. Christmas Carol performances. Christmas Eve mass. Festive displays in Liberty, Selfridges, Fortum and Mason. See a panto. Santa Runs….

Research, research, research!

Hi. Thanks. I’ve been to London, just not with my family. I know the neighborhoods and I have the RS book. Part of the reason I’d like to be in a hotel near great shops/restaurants is to enjoy the holiday energy and be able to get Christmas meals in the hotel restaurant or within walking distance. I equate English style to historic charm and not having it look like a chain hotel that could be in Indiana. :) Looking forward to our trip.

I've stayed at the Citadines Holborn a couple of times. You might like that one or the Trafalgar Square location, which apparently offers a 2 bedroom apartment.
