We are headed to London, a week before we go on the Rick Steves tour (Loire to the south of France) in June.
We are looking for suggestions about where to stay in London that would be centrally located to the main attractions.
We are looking for a room with twin beds,
Thanks!
I've stayed in the Cherry Court Hotel- simple, great, lovely owners. Depending on your budget Citizen M hotels are awesome. I've had friends recommend Henley House too, but never stayed there.
Hopefully this helps! Would recommend to book soon, this spring is going to be a busy one in London! :)
What's your budget?
Assuming that you will be taking the Eurostar to get to the Loire I would look at the Kings Cross/ St Pancras area. There is a direct tube to there from LHR and direct trains from LGW. And the Eurostar goes from St Pancras. It’s also well connected for public transport for your London sightseeing.
The are lots of hotels at all price points from the simple but always reliable Premier Inns (3 of them) up to the iconic restored Renaissance above St Pancras.
I don't know what your full plan is but I'd plan to get to Paris the day before your tour start in Chartres. Do plan to take the Eurostar as suggested above.
I'm returning to the hotel I've stayed at several times previously in London, The Lime Tree on Ebury Street. Don't know your budget or other requirements - no elevator and no AC in this location so might be dicey for June if there is a heat wave!
There are many Premier Inn. fans on this site and they will probably chime in with recommendations.
I am a fan of booking.com for research. You can then book through booking or go directly to the hotel website.
