We are signed up for a RS Best of London 7 day tour in early October. We received our hotel list and contacted the tour hotel - Washington Mayfair - for a reservation quote for a few days before & after the tour. 210 pounds was a bit more than I had wanted to spend. Any suggestions? Lime Tree is totally booked. Anyone stayed at St David's Hotel? Convenient to public transportation, clean & safe are our priorities. Would appreciate help and/or suggestions. Thanks.
Tell us your budget in GBP and others here can better assist you. We prefer to save money on lodging since we only occupy the room to sleep and wash up. Premier Inns are well located, clean, safe, and comfy. So are rooms at www.Travelodge.co.uk where we almost always stay. Sign up on both websites and you will be notified of some great bargains, some rooms as low as 19-29GBP/night. We have booked with Trivago as well and scored reduced rates at Hilton Hotels across London. Club Quarters adjacent to Trafalgar Square, walkable to many sights and near Covent Garden, is another choice.
Luna and Simone? Vancouver Studio apartments? The Nadler, the former Base2Stay? Or if you are merely wanting to rest your head before and after the tour why not try an Airbnb option? On my last three visits to London I've stayed in Airbnb properties. All excellent accommodations that met my needs as a solo traveler. For me a great way to experience the different neighborhoods of London and make new friends. Looking forward to the Airbnb 2 Bedroom flat I've booked in the Holland Park neighborhood for my friends and I later this year. Always nice to enjoy the hospitality and company of the locals. Have a great trip. Fabulous city!
