London Hotel Help Needed

Hello! I'm looking for help for hotels - or other lodging options - for my upcoming trip to London. I arrive on November 24 and am staying 7 nights. Flying in and out of Heathrow. I am a single woman traveling alone. Cost (under 150 US$/night ideally) and safety are very important. I want to be able to walk to attractions.

Neighborhood recommendations are also welcome. I'm used to large cities and have been to London several times before - but not recently. I've had extended stays in Earls Court (about 25years ago) and also in St. John's Wood.

I was initially thinking airbnb but the one place that I thought was most promising was snatched up. (I'm kicking myself for not booking immediately.) I was thinking non-hotel options would give me more flexibility and less reliance on restaurant meals all the time. Are there other sites besides airbnb for short-term stays?

All suggestions are welcome. Thank you in advance for your help.

My husband and I stayed at the Aster House Hotel a couple of weeks ago, (Rick Steve rsecommend) very near Kensington station. The area was bustling with restaurants and coffee shops and was literally less than a 5 minute walk to the tube. Very nice people running it with a great breakfast every morning. I would definitely stay there again.

U may check hostels that have private rooms.
Most have share kitchens and will make u budget more doable.

I always stay at the Jesmond Dene on Argyle St. Just a block or so from Kings Cross station (train, metro, buses) and St. Pancras Station
It is a small hotel - no elevator. You can get a full English Breakfast each AM.
If you pay your bill in cash at the end, you get a discount.
Here is the link.

Jesmond Dene Hotel

I've stayed there several times as a single, double, and quad. It is my go to Hotel in London.

Check availability at the Vancouver Studio Apartments in the vibrant Bayswater neighborhood.
Although I haven’t stayed there recently was my go to place to stay for years. No elevator if that’s a problem.
Safe, clean and I believe within your budget.

Enjoy your return to London.

If you don't mind a small room, try The Nadler Kensington. I've stayed there about half a dozen times and they have a reduced rate if you are willing to book a non-refundable rate that should be close to your budget. The hotel is a short walk from Earls Court tube station. Hotel is ver clean with nice modern bathroom with good shower. The rooms have a kitchenette with fridge, microwave, kettle, coffee maker. Staff is great.

Also near Bayswater station, London House Hotel. I am returning there next May, about £104/night single. Lots of restaurant choices nearby. I found them on booking.com.

Hello Lulu, Copthorne Tara off High Street Kensington is quiet, safe, close to the tube, and near Whole Foods and Albert Hall. I have stayed there a number of times over the years. I believe it is in your price range. The other options in Bayswater also look good to me. Enjoy your trip!

Check out the Cherry Court Hotel in the Victoria neighborhood. Very reasonable price, around 100 dollars for small single room with fruit basket for breakfast. Very nice and helpful hosts, nice area, great pub with good food across the street and nice little coffee shop down the street. Not fancy but the price is right.

use booking.com; you can filter your search by price range, neighborhood etc.; you can read reviews from other travelers

I would highly recommend Luna & Simone. A single room for your date specified is about £90 per night. A double room for single use is about £105 per night. If room #4 is available, I would recommend booking it. It’s less than a 10 minute walk from the Pimlico tube station and about a 15-20 minute walk from Victoria Station. The number 24 bus line drops you off right by the hotel.

Had a decent stay at the Byron Hotel near Bayswater/Queensway which would be near your price point. I did not book it but recently looked at The Omega near Paddington. It seemed to get higher than average ratings for the small hotels in the Paddington area.

Bloomsbury is a nice safe quiet yet very central area. Look at the aforementioned Jesmond Dene. There is a clutch of nice little hotels on Cartwright Gardens - look at Celtic or St Margaret's or Studios2Let. Also I have an American friend who always stays at the Arosfa on Gower Street though that might be a little noisier.
There's a small group of hotels mostly in Bloomsbury and nearby Fitzrovia called the Grange hotels that are often well-priced. They're not luxurious but they're in nice old buildings and some nice touches and I often stay in one or another for work (we have a max expenses budget similar to your budget!)

I just checked the Grange website and they say they're luxury - but their hotels in and around the area I mentioned aren't luxury hotels, just decent little neighbourhood ones. So worth a try: I've stayed at Grange White Hall & Grange Blooms. https://www.grangehotels.com/hotels-london/

The other people didn't bother to point this out - central London is a large area and there is no location where you will be able to walk to a large number of attractions.
