London hotel for family

My husband and I are taking our daughter, her husband, and their 2 children (14-yr-old girl and 9-yr-old-boy) to London this summer. Our granddaughter would like a room of her own for her privacy, but that's not going to happen! Does anyone know of suite hotels (other than Marriott Residence Inn), or any other hotels that would be suitable for them in central London?

Thank you very much for any suggestions you can provide.

hey hey Joanne
what are your dates in summer and budget in pounds?
LOL at your granddaughter for her own privacy, yeah when she's 25 and buying her own ticket.
you are kinda late for summertime but keep searching. it will probably be HOT, very crowded, busy and an expensive place to stay.
with 6 of you, look at 2 hotels for 3 people. nice to have 3 bathrooms. many places have limit in a room.
booking.com
look what is available for your time frame.
citadines.com
apartments with small kitchens, living space, A/C, may need to rent 2
grand plaza serviced apartments
some have 2 and 3 bedroom apartments, kitchens, living space
see something you like and book it, no looking back.
good luck and enjoy/have fun

Would you consider a flat? I think you might find it a cost effective option. I've had good results through VRBO

Not an individual apartment, Carol. We'd rather be in a hotel. Thanks.

The following are apartment hotels in London:

Staybridge Suites
Staycity
Wilde by Staycity
Native hotels
Hyatt House
Fraser Suites
Locke Hotels
Citadines

Many of the above have multiple locations around London.

In addition to the ApartHotels that Frank suggested, you can try the Cheval brand which have locations around the city. Some of the properties have 3 bedrooms which would give you plenty of space. What I like about the Cheval brand is that they provide daily house keeping, not all ApartHotels offer that service.

London is great in the summer. Everyone relaxes and enjoys sitting outside for drinks and food wherever possible. It’s very, very rarely too hot to enjoy sightseeing. It’s not the case that London is extra busy. August is the month with the fewest Tube journeys taken. Locals go away and there is very little business travel meaning you can actually get some good deals on hotels.

If you all want to be in the same apartment I would look at Airbnb and similar. I think aparthotels will be quite cramped for that many people even if they do technically sleep 5.

Locke Hotels are really best suited for solo or couples.

SACO Holborn has apartments that can accommodate up to 5. https://www.sacoapartments.com/en

SACO and Locke share a parent company.

Native has apartments and aparthotels in London with some that can accommodate up to 6, like Native King’s Wardrobe, St. Paul’s. https://nativeplaces.com/

I would look for a "family room" or "quad room" or adjoining rooms for your daughter's family in a hotel where you and your husband can enjoy your privacy. The Darlington Hyde Park was recommended on the Forum, and I quite enjoyed my stay there. They have quad rooms and a decent breakfast buffet in a pleasant room. Coin laundry on premises. It's not the most convenient location for general sightseeing, but it's close to bus and tube, so you can get anywhere. https://www.darlingtonhotel.com

London hotels can easily run $400 per night for a quality hotel room.
However, we like Premier Inn hotels, there are many spread around the city.
Rooms runs from low to medium $200s, but they are clean and in great locations.
