London Hotel for 4 nights

We will be traveling to England this summer and part of the trip will include 4 nights in London. During that time, my husband will be working at an office in the Holborn district.

I am looking for a Hotel that will allow me to sight see during the day while he is at work. One of the hotels that his office recommends is the Zetter Hotel https://www.thezetter.com/. Has anyone stayed there or recommend this neighborhood?

My preferred option is staying in the Bloomsbury area since I want to visit the British Museum and go on a Literary Walk. Any hotel recommendations for this area or perhaps another nearby neighborhood? Our budget is up to $300 US dollars per night max.

Thank you so much!

I used to work around here and I personally like it but probably because it's not full of tourists! You'll be able to walk to the British Museum easily and down to St Paul's and across to the Tate Modern. I presume you don't have an aversion to using the tube or buses. Hotel looks nice!

Thank you, ryanandgill. I have no problem using the tube/buses, but good to know that I can walk to the British Museum.

I cannot suggest a hotel, but nearby via the tube; is the Wallace Collection. A fabulous collection of art not to be missed.

The area around Clerkenwell isn't heavily touristed but is worth staying in. Mixed area - "creative" businesses, some very high-class property and bits of council housing. There are some nice restaurants and pubs in the area.

Miranda, I just looked up Sir John Soane's Museum and it looks fun! Thanks for suggesting it!

You're welcome - I go every time I'm in London. If you go early in the day, you can sign up for a tour of the family's private rooms, so ask about that.
