If anyone is flying out of London Gatwick, some good news!
Due to new CT security scanners in place, you can now leave liquids and large electronics in hand luggage for security screening. Liquids will still need to be 100 mL or less for the time being, but no plastic bag is needed, and there doesn't seem to be any limit on the amount of small containers you can bring.
To my knowledge, LGW is the 4th London area airport to fully implement this new scanning technology, after London City (LCY), Luton (LTN), and Southend (SEN). London Heathrow and Stansted seem only partially done for the moment.
