I traveled to a compay office in Mayfair for many years and found Mayfair to be a great neighborhood. Walkable to "everything" in central London. Lots of restaurants and shopping. Short walk to multiple underground stations. Of course, it is probably the most expensive neighborhood.

I envy you. I almost have my wife convinced to do a similar trip next spring.

Need budget intel.

London is an expensive city.

This 2021 Conde Naste Traveller list offers insight to the various London neighborhoods. https://www.cntraveller.com/article/best-neighbourhoods-in-london

I like Richmond but it’s good 25 minute tube ride to the city center. Often means you’ll be walking back to your accommodation after attending theatre at nearly midnight. Did that in 2021 because I was staying with friends in that neighborhood.

After reading up on London’s neighborhoods scour booking.com. Haven’t used Plum Guide in years but used to be great to use before AirBnB took over the rental universe.

Mayfair, Kensington, S Kensington, Nottinghill, Hampstead meet your description. Consider Holland Park by Koyto Gardens as well.

In 2021 spent the entire month of November in London. Fabulous time.

Enjoy yours.

Try to attend the Lord’s Mayor Parade on November 11.

Kensington is one of the most expensive areas of London. However, there are many neighborhoods near Kensington that might be of interest to you. These include South Kensington, Earls Court, Notting Hill and Holland Park.

Areas like Knightsbridge and Mayfair will have very high rents.

It really depends on your budget.
