London for 3 nights

I’m heading to London for a short trip next month. Will be seeing a concert at the Ovo Arena Wembley, so it appears I should stay somewhere near the Jubliee or Metropolitan tube lines. To simplify my trip I thought of taking the Elizabeth Line to/from Heathrow. Any hotel suggestions near any of the following tube stations (or other advice) would be appreciated: Bond Street, Farringdon, Liverpool St or Stratford. I only have 2 full days in London and want to be able to wander around a bit for sightseeing.

Oh nice, who are you seeing at Wembley Arena?

I can tell you from experience it's a loooong journey from Wembley to Stratford (even to Liverpool Street). I would be staying more like Baker Street area (Bond Street as you mention would also work). It's easy to change from the Elizabeth Line to the tube. Waterloo could also be a good option, I know a lot of people on this forum like to stay around there, and it's quite well located for sightseeing.

Thanks. I’m hoping to keep it around 200-250GBP/night.

I’m going to The Damned show — I keep missing them at home, so the 50th anniversary show seemed like a good excuse to travel.

I’m going to The Damned show

Neat Neat Neat.

A one train ride on the Jubilee Line from Wembley Park (is that the best station for Wembley Arena?) puts a lot of places in central London at your fingertips.

I was just looking at the map to remind myself.

As Cat says, Waterloo is a popular choice, many here favouring Premier Inn Waterloo or Westminster Station for Premier Inn County Hall.

There's a few modern hotels around the Southwark / Blackfriars area that are a short walk from Southwark Station.

In north west London there's St John's Wood, leafy and with Beatles history. West Hampstead, Kilburn and Swiss Cottage are fairly decent residential area with some character, but maybe too far out of town if you want to be sightseeing.

Even Canary Wharf out east is on the Jubilee Line and has some merit for hotel stays. [It has the same problem as Stratford though. Miles away in London terms from Wembley.]

I'm no hotel expert, but maybe others have some specific ideas along those lines.

The Jubilee and Met line both go through Baker Street station which also has the Bakerloo, Circle, District and Hammersmith and City line. It’s not a huge station, no long corridors, and is a reasonably easy interchange so I wouldn’t ignore areas on those lines or near Baker Street.

Of the stations you have mentioned you might struggle with your budget near Bond street.
Also be aware many Met Line trains terminate, and start, at Baker Street so if you choose to stay near a station further down the line you might have to change any way.

Paddington, Marylebone, Regents Parks are all near Baker Street and are on lines that go through Baker Street so are worth a look.

Waterloo could also be a good option, I know a lot of people on this forum like to stay around there, and it's quite well located for sightseeing.

If you decide to go with Waterloo, I would recommend either the Premier in Waterloo or the Premier in County Hall, both of which are within a short walking distance from Waterloo station. Plus, they're both very reasonably priced, so you should be able to get something in your price range there. That said, because you're booking late, you might not be able to get something as cheap as you'd like. I don't know, but it would be worth checking.

I would probably check them both as Waterloo is usually a little bit cheaper than County Hall. Of course, the disadvantage to Waterloo is that it's smaller, so it doesn't have as many rooms as County Hall. The location is great, and it's close to a lot of sights. Plus, there are lots of cafes and restaurants in the area, including a Gail's Bakery and an M&S Food Hall.

I'll chime in with a vote for Premier Inn County Hall. The location can't be beat and while it's no frills, it's perfectly fine. I've stayed there twice and probably will again.

I am going to the show as well! I have always wanted to do something crazy like travel across the Atlantic Ocean just to see one of my favorite bands. I finally decided to do that with The Damned. Then of course, I had to turn the trip into a month long vacation. Lol
I am excited to see them in their home-country for such an important milestone in their troubled career. I think there will be a special energy present because of those reasons. It'll be great! I saw them here in the states for their 40th anniversary and it was fantastic! They are top-notch performers.

Anyway, have a great show!
