I would like to pre- book our tickets for the London Eye 1st week of May to have the one cycle at sunset & come down in the dark? It says the line up is 45 minutes depending on the time of year. I know it's hard to judge ahead of time but on average how long do you think we'd have to wait in line?
Thanks,
Jean
No clue, Jean, but are you aware of the several free high point vista points such as the Walkie Talkie Building (20 Fenchurch Street) (34 storey up garden) or One New Change (roof top next to St Pauls), or further afield in Kensington?

Hi Nigel; forgot about the One New Change but didn't know about the Talkie Talkie Building, to there is a roof top lookout there?
Thanks,
Jean
The building known as the Walkie Talkie Building - because of its curved shape - has a real name of 20 Fenchurch Street, is at the address in the name, near Cannon Street Station, has the huge open garden on the roof called Sky Garden. Have a look at http://www.20fenchurchstreet.co.uk/sky-garden.html
It is really fun, free (needs booking in advance because tickets are only released a week in advance, walk ups possible to queue for a couple of times a day, if you eat at one of the fancy restaurants you get admission included) and has great views including a glass edged outdoor balcony. When I was there a couple of weeks ago in pouring rain and high winds there was still a good crowd.
